Since mid-April, after my National Examination, I have been having lots of spare time. Unless there was something important, like the graduation announcement ceremony and the legalisation of school documents, I didn’t and don’t need to go to school. I have been staying at home the whole day almost everyday. So what have I been up to?
Well, my father ordered a MacBook Pro for me and it arrived on June 27th this year. So I’ve been literally messing around with it, testing all its features and stuffs. I especially love the trackpad and its multitasking feature. And the charger seems to be the coolest! At first, I admit I was a bit intimidated by it. After all, I have been a Windows user for years, so suddenly switching to Mac OS X? I might need time to adapt myself. I was, somehow, intimidated by the designs, and how design-centric its apps – like Pages, Numbers, and Keynotes – can be. I read all about them on Apple’s website, so I at least knew what each of the apps could do before I try my hands on them. I know they’re basically Microsoft Words, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint, but it’s not all the same, isn’t it? And it must have seemed funny why I was intimidated by things related to designs. It was because I’m applying for Visual Communication Design – New Media as my major. To be honest, I’m not talented in designs, but I have my interests placed in this. Kind of worried about this, actually. Especially when I have to cope with a new lifestyle in a new city (moving from Tanjungpinang to Jakarta). Back to the discussion of my MacBook Pro, in conclusion, I’m pleased with its performance so far.
As I am going to study Visual Communication Design – New Media soon, with class starting in late September this year, I try to practice my drawing skills and getting myself set with some softwares like Photoshop. For my drawing skills, I have been drawing both traditionally and digitally. Traditionally, I go with my sketchbook, and digitally, I go with my iPad, using softwares like Paper by 53 and Tayasui Sketches. I have been sharing my works on Instagram as @efwcelia and @efwinspired. I rarely post as @efwcelia, so you might prefer my art account @efwinspired for more drawings. I don’t want to mix my personal account and my art account, hence the existence of @efwinspired. I post on my Facebook page too, but that’s for when I have time. For fast and direct posts, I go with @efwinspired, because I get more feedbacks and attention there. Instagram is also filled with awesome art accounts, so I can get inspiration from them at the same time. Their drawings are great, awesome, and really inspiring. The artists themselves are also very helpful. So if you want, you can check out @efwinspired on Instagram and I would really appreciate it if you can give me feedbacks, tips, and constructive criticism! Oh, and did I mention I do art requests and art trades? ๐ As for learning softwares like Photoshop, I seek help from the internet. I have been reading some extra tips and watching tutorials on YouTube.
I have also recently been quite active on Wattpad, a writing community. I have been interested in this particular language, English, and I love to write. I love expressing myself through this universal language most people understand. And thanks to my wonderful tutor, Mr. Hendi who established his very own English tuition centre, DD Training Centre, I get to “publish” my very own novel : A Goat’s Life. So I recently (just recently!) decided to share its contents with the world through Wattpad. I virtually published it, shared about that through several social networking services – including Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and Pinterestย –ย and hopefully people will enjoy reading that. I will also appreciate feedbacks and constructive criticisms!
Oh, and I’m also currently providing a proofreading service. With that service, I help writers (who writes either fanfictions, stories, or anything!) proofread their works and help with their grammatical errors. And here’s the best part, it’s free of charge, I don’t charge a cent! Well that’s mainly because I’m stupid with online payment system and stuffs, haha.. So I promoted that on the writing community, Wattpad, itself and on my Instagram account, @efwinspired, as well. And now, on WordPress!
P.S. I was surprised, but thank you for 900+ visits! ๐
